The Terminator Visits a School in Kalihi

As if we didn’t have enough worries about our children and what they learn in school, along comes yet another example roll model to consider. Former California Governor, former Austrian Oak world champion bodybuilder, former action movie star, former Terminator, and admitted adulterer Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger visited students in Kalihi’s Dole Middle School cafeteria.

My question for the day is simple. Is Arnold a good role model for children?

His is a rags to riches story. As a teenager he began weight training. At age 20 he was Mr. Universe, then Mr. Olympia seven times. Schwarzenegger’s father was a police chief and member of the Nazi Party. After coming to the US, Schwarzenegger’s body building career took off. Then movies. Then movie stars. Then Maria Shriver. Then the governor’s office in California. Then a messy and public scandal and divorce.

Along the way, Schwarzenegger starred in dozens of action movies, the most notable being The Terminator series (think death and destruction and retribution handed down from the future).

Now, Schwarzenegger is on tour, polishing up his image as he begins the journey back into the Hollywood limelight. First, it’s visiting school children at a cafeteria in Kalhi. Then, it’s another public appearance somewhere else. Then, in time, it’s back to the movie screen.

Will those Kalihi school children stand in line to see the next Schwarzenegger action thriller? Or, will they simply wonder what The Terminator has been doing all these years?

What has he been doing? California is broke. So is Maria Shriver’s heart.
